Improving the Quality of Life

Tahlequah Day Center

Zoe Institute in partnership with the Tahlequah Area Coalition for the Homeless (TACH), has established the Tahlequah Day Center to provide services for individuals who are at risk of, or are experiencing homelessness and addressing the complex needs of the individuals through the networking collaboration of other human service organizations.

The Day Center will offer public restrooms equipped with showers, a dining / learning area with computer, and a warming center to our clients.

Currently we are staffed with a professional full time Case Manager that can provide indirect services and is able to work with individuals both homeless and non homeless, in assisting with:

  • The application of governmental programs and benefits, such as VA benefits and SNAP. Our case manager is SOAR certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, (SAMHSA) and can also assist in the gathering of documents and the application of Social Security Disability and Retirement.
  • Personal documentation needed for employment and other governmental programs such as Identification Cards, Birth Certificates and Social Security Cards.
  • Employment tools such as resume' writing and interviewing skills.
  • Mail Service for individuals that are without a mailing address.
  • At present,, we along with the volunteers of TACH, have a "Sandwich Project" which serves sandwiches every M-W-F-Sat. from 12-1.
  • "Laundry Project" in which we provide laundry tokens to individuals that would not otherwise have the money or access to wash their clothes.
